Course Instructor: 
JOSEANE DAHER, MSc.

She's graduated in Technical Superior Level in Data Processing and she holds a Master's degree in Social/Visual Anthropology from the Federal University of Parana.

Her master's thesis titled 'Cinema de Indio: uma realizacao dos Povos da Floresta' (Indigenous Cinema: an achievement of Forest People) is available in the Thesis and Dissertations Bank on Photography - IMS, Moreira Sales Institute, Sao Paulo, Brazil, since 2020.

She's the creator and coordinator of the Postgraduate courses in Photography and Moving Image (2009-2019), Cinema: Processes, Projects and Reflections (2016-2017), and Economy, Business, and Creative Products (2018-2019), as well as several Extension courses and workshops, all at the Universidade Positivo in Curitiba.

She has given lectures at many institutions, including Franklin & Marshall College in Pennsylvania, USA, Mackenzie University and Belas Artes, in São Paulo.

Her photographs are part of the collections of Joaquim Paiva, MAM - Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro, MEDITERRANEO COLLECTION in Catania, Italy, UNICEF, UN, AMERICAN MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY in New York, and MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY in Helsinki, Finland, among others.

She has received several awards and have been invited to participate in numerous exhibitions, including 'On the Horizon Line' (2019) at Goldsmiths University in London, United Kingdom; PHOTOVISA 2021 - International Biennial of Photography in Krasnodar, Russia; MED PHOTO FEST 2022 (October to December) - XIV International Edition - Exhibition 'Brazilian Contemporary Photography' in Catania, Sicily, Italy.

She has been invited to the Solo Exhibition 'Parallel Encounters in the Americas,' from June 18th to August 2023, at the Photo Gallery - Art Museum of the Americas in Washington DC, USA, and to the Solo Exhibition at MED PHOTO FEST 2023 - XV International Edition - 'Authorial Photography,' from October 6th to December 2023, in Catania, Sicily, Italy.

She worked as a photojournalist for the Associated Press in New York and the newspaper A Gazeta do Povo in Curitiba, Brazil. She photographed the Kaxinawa indigenous people in the state of Acre, Brazil, for the human rights group 'The Forefront Leaders' in Washington DC, USA, and also organized the trip and documented the Xavante indigenous people in images for the American Museum of Natural History in New York, USA.

She is also a technical photographer for neighbor precautionary reports for Daher Engineering Technology Ltd. and architectural photography.
